Paideia Christian Academy’s educational philosophy is built on three core pillars: Christ-centered learning, classical education, and a collaborative model with families.
First, the school emphasizes a Christ-centered approach in all subjects and activities. Every area of study is taught as part of an interconnected whole, unified under Christ and directed toward fulfilling the Greatest Commandment—loving God and loving others. Subjects are not treated as isolated disciplines but as reflections of God’s truth, showing how knowledge is meaningful only when rooted in Him. The school also seeks to nurture each child’s personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, recognizing that true transformation comes from faith rather than knowledge alone. Teachers model this faith and guide students toward spiritual growth. In addition, the academy encourages students to see themselves as part of the body of Christ, developing their gifts, building relationships, resolving conflicts, and growing into mature members of the Christian community.
PCA adopts a classical model of education focused on forming virtue, wisdom, and a love of learning. This includes training in the liberal arts (trivium and quadrivium), cultivating skills in logic and rhetoric, and engaging with timeless literature to participate in the “Great Conversation.” Education is seen not just as gaining knowledge but as shaping character and affections towards Christ—teaching students to love what is true, good, and beautiful.
Finally, the academy uses a collaborative or hybrid model that partners closely with parents. As the name suggests, this model aims to combine the best attributes of homeschooling with the best attributes of traditional schooling, integrating them into one educational experience under one cohesive curriculum. Under the Collaborative model, students attend classes part of the week while completing guided work at home under parental oversight. This approach affirms parents as primary educators, combines professional instruction with family involvement, and allows flexibility for additional learning opportunities. Ultimately, the goal is to cultivate students who grow in knowledge, virtue, faith, and a lifelong pursuit of wisdom.
